Taytum Woods ~ Mini Mites, Stretch & Contemp

Taytum began dancing at the age of 7 and has fallen more deeply in love with the art ever since. With over 12 years of competitive dance training across a diverse range of disciplines - including Ballet (RAD), Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary/Modern, Acro, and Heels - Taytum’s passion for dance continues to grow.  Beyond her own training, her true passion lies in nurturing the next generation of dancers and witnessing their growth.

Most recently, Taytum had the honor of dancing professionally overseas for 9 months with Disney Cruise Line, traveling to the Bahamas and Mexico on The Disney Dream. During her time onboard, she performed in 3 mainstage productions - Beauty and the Beast, Believe, and The Golden Mickeys - as well as dancing on the deck stage with Mickey and friends in Colour Spin. Additionally, she understudied the Victrophonics Tap Soloist role.

Growing up as a competitive dancer, Taytum was fortunate to experience many exciting opportunities, including representing Team Canada for three remarkable years. She traveled internationally to compete at the prestigious IDO World Championships in Germany (2016), Poland (2017), and Belgium (2023). These experiences resulted in several podium placements, including a Bronze Medal for her ballet solo in Poland and a Gold Medal for her ballet duet in Belgium.

Taytum’s training has also taken her across North America to attend renowned conventions and competitions such as The Dance Awards (TDA), NUVO, NYCDA, and YAGP in cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Boston, Orlando, and Toronto. There, she had the opportunity to learn from outstanding professional choreographers from around the world.

Alongside her travels, Taytum remained deeply committed to her training at home in Edmonton, completing her RAD ballet examinations with Distinction in all levels from Grade 1 through Advanced 2, and earned her RAD Solo Seal in 2025.

Years of dedicated training ultimately revealed Taytum’s true passion; teaching. She began student teaching under her mentors at the age of eleven and quickly fell in love with guiding dancers through their individual learning journeys. This experience evolved into assisting her mentors, as well as professional dancers at conventions and intensives, and eventually stepping into roles as a teacher, choreographer, and private coach. Through these opportunities, Taytum has continued to empower dancers both technically and artistically.

Taytum’s mission is to create a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment where every child feels seen, supported, and encouraged to grow—both as an artist and as an individual. With open arms and a compassionate heart, she is deeply committed to guiding each student toward their personal and team goals.
